Photo! 3D Album is an application that allows you to display images in a virtual gallery. It doesn't make three-dimensional images, but instead puts your photographs on digital canvases in a realistic gallery.

It's a simple program, of course, but it's a neat concept that amateur photographers should appreciate. Photo! 3D Album offers several virtual gallery templates and allows you to navigate around the gallery with your mouse and keyboard to look at your displays. Alternately, you can export your creation as a screensaver or in a web-friendly Shockwave or VRML format.

In order to change your gallery settings, you need to restart the program. This is a bit of a pain if you're trying to explore all of the program's features. You can also download additional gallery templates online, but the selection is limited. Generally speaking, the galleries look good although there are a few underwhelming options on the menu. None of the galleries look completely professional, but at its best, Photo! 3D Album puts your photographs in an attractive setting that's well worth sharing with friends, family and fellow art aficionados.

This program won't put much strain on your video card, but users with basic computers might have a little trouble running Photo! 3D Album smoothly. You should think of this application as a fun diversion or a toy rather than a full-fledged tool for displaying your favorite photographs and images. It's great for creating screen savers or web galleries, however, and its limitations are acceptable given its small size and inventive concept.
